NTRA Holds 2nd Round Table Conference for African Women

The activities of the 2nd round table conference of the Egyptian-African Center for Training in Telecommunications Regulation have recently come to an end.

The event witnessed the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority held with the participation of 32 women experts and specialists in communications and information technology from 15 African countries.

The conference comes within the framework of implementing the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority’s plan aimed at building African humanity cadres in the field of telecommunications regulation and in line with the state’s directions to strengthen relations with the countries of the African continent.

It further seeks to exchange expertise and technical and commercial practices with their counterparts in telecommunications regulatory bodies on the African continent, enhance the role of Egyptian and African women, and support their positive participation in all fields related to the communications and information technology sector.

On the sidelines of the conference, the agency hosted a panel discussion entitled “Empowering African Women in the Field of Communications and Information Technology,” which addressed the challenges facing women in the communications sector, topics related to gender equality and women’s empowerment in the field, and ways to ensure the availability of resources and career opportunities and the importance of achieving a safer and more comprehensive digital environment.

The event came in the presence of Dr. Randa Mostafa, Undersecretary of the Education, Scientific Research, Communications and Information Technology Committee of the Egyptian Senate; Engineer Abeer Khader, Head of the Cybersecurity Sector, National Bank of Egypt; Dr. Mona Murad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of On Air Group Company; Eng. Zeina Al-Muqaddam, Vice President of Regulation at ViaSat; and Professor Shaden Khallaf, Head of Public Policy (North Africa) at Meta.
