The National Council for Women (NCW) has released its Day One report from the Central Operations Room monitoring the 2025 Senate elections, highlighting a strong female turnout and efficient organization across polling stations nationwide.
Held over August 4 and 5, the elections have seen Egyptian women step once again to the forefront of civic engagement, reinforcing their crucial role in national decision-making.
Women Lead the Electoral Scene
Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the NCW, expressed pride in the overwhelming female presence during the first day of voting, describing it as a powerful reflection of the Egyptian woman’s awareness of her national responsibility and democratic duty.
Field Monitoring Across Egypt
Dr. Rasha El-Mahdy, rapporteur of the Political Participation Committee at the NCW, praised the dedication of field observers who worked across Egypt to ensure transparent monitoring.
She emphasized that Egyptian women have once again proven themselves to be the “third line of defense” for the nation, playing a key role in upholding democracy through active participation.
Operational Highlights
According to Isis Mahmoud, a coordinator from the NCW’s operations room, monitoring activities began promptly at 9:00 AM with the deployment of 1,688 field observers. These observers covered 1,567 sub-committees and 119 general committees across all governorates.
