The National Council for Women and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) are jointly organizing a special event to celebrate the registration of the first heritage craft bearing a collective trademark in Egypt – Al-Talli Al-Suhaji.
The event will take place today at 5:30 pm and will be attended by public figures, designers, artists, media personalities, and influencers from various fields.
The event will include a fashion show featuring Al Talli fashions, which will be presented in collaboration with the British University in Egypt’s Faculty of Art and Design, the show’s educational partner. Dr. Iman Afifi, an expert in etiquette and fashion shows, will direct the show.
The event marks the conclusion of the “Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship for Women in Egypt – the Talli Craft Sector in Sohag – Egypt” project.
The initiative, implemented by the Council in partnership with the organization, focuses on empowering women working in the Talli Craft on Shandawil Island – Sohag Governorate.
