NCW Launches Banking Simulation Activities in Sohag in Cooperation with Banque Misr

Mona Yousef

As part of the National Project for the Development of the Egyptian Family and within the framework of the presidential “Hayah Karima” initiative, the National Council for Women (NCW), in cooperation with Banque Misr, has launched banking simulation activities in the villages of Mishta and Beni Hilal in Sohag Governorate.

These activities come under the umbrella of the “Tahwisha” Savings Project — a component of the broader initiative aiming to enhance financial inclusion for women across Egypt.

Nashwa Mostafa, Director General of the Financial Inclusion Program at the NCW, explained that the banking simulations are designed to reach a large number of women and girls in rural areas. The goal is to break the fear barrier surrounding formal banking by introducing available services in a simplified and innovative format.

In addition to showcasing banking options, the sessions raise awareness of the “Tahwisha” savings initiative and highlight the range of services provided by the NCW. These include:

  • Free medical services, including check-ups and surgeries
  • Issuance, renewal, and data updates for national ID cards

The project aims to promote women’s financial inclusion and support their economic empowerment, directly contributing to the objectives of the National Project for the Development of the Egyptian Family, and Banque Misr’s CSR mission.
