As part of the National Project for the Development of the Egyptian Family, the National Council for Women (NCW) in Giza organized a series of financial literacy training sessions at the Al-Saff Center, aimed at empowering women in several villages including Ghamaza Al-Kubra, Nazlat Aleyan, Nogou’ Al-Arab, Al-Aqwaz, Askar, Ezbet Al-Salam, and Al-Desmy.
The initiative is part of the Council’s continuous efforts to economically empower Egyptian women and promote financial inclusion within Egyptian families.
Promoting Financial Awareness
The training sessions were designed to enhance women’s financial awareness, develop their ability to manage financial resources, and encourage sound financial planning for a more stable and independent future.
Delivered by facilitators and supervisors of the “Tahweesha” project in Giza Governorate, the sessions covered a wide range of practical topics, including:
- The importance of financial education and the benefits of saving.
- How to invest savings in productive small projects.
- Setting short- and long-term financial goals.
- Developing personal financial plans and spending priorities.
- Understanding the difference between good and bad loans.
- Identifying safe sources of saving and borrowing.
- Managing financial risks responsibly.
Broad Community Participation
Over 450 women from the targeted villages participated in the training over two days, reflecting the growing interest in financial education among rural women and the success of the NCW’s community outreach programs.
The Council reaffirmed its commitment to continue expanding financial literacy initiatives across Egypt’s villages and governorates, supporting women’s ability to make informed economic decisions, which contributes to family stability and sustainable community development.
