As an active member of the Arab Women’s Organization, the National Council for Women announced the allocation of an appreciation award entitled “Shireen Abu Akleh Emerging Reporter Award in Social Justice Journalism” to Female Egyptian Media Professionals who specialize in investigative journalism.
The Council stated that the award is an honorary shield that comes in honor of the memory of the late reporter who became a symbol of courage and honesty. It aims to celebrate Arab female journalists who are active in the field of investigative reporting and have made a distinguished contribution to addressing human and societal issues.
The award also underlines the transformative role played by investigative journalism in spreading awareness, enforcing the right to accountability, enhancing freedom of speech, and communicating the truth to public opinion.
The award’s conditions are as follows:
– To be of Egyptian nationality.
– To have experience in the field of investigative reporting.
Institutions related to the media or women’s issues can nominate a female journalist who meets the conditions for nomination.

– Work Resume
– Current job with supporting documents
– A copy of the ID card and union card
– Previous work Samples of high quality, including links
– Mention the awards received by the nominated journalist in this field (if any).
The Council indicated that any female investigative journalist (Egyptian) who wishes to nominate for the award must send the required documents to the email address below before the deadline on November 2nd.
