The National Council for Women is participating for the second year in a row with a special pavilion within the activities of the 55th session of the Cairo International Book Fair 2024 (CIBF), held this year under the slogan “We create knowledge…we preserve the word” and extends from January 24 to February 6 at the Egypt International Exhibition and Conference Center in New Cairo.
The Council’s pavilion includes a collection of its publications on women’s issues in all fields that it has published over the past years, in addition to presenting an introductory overview to those interested in women’s issues about the efforts of Egypt and the Council in the field of empowering and protecting women.
Part of the Council’s pavilion will be allocated to the Women’s Complaints Office for information on the services it provides to women, in addition to psychological, social, and legal support offered to them, through the hotline 15115 on which the office receives inquiries and complaints about women.
Moreover, the Council allocates a special corner for the “Noura” Initiative, launched by the Council under the patronage of Mrs. Entissar El-Sisi that aims to build and enhance girls’ capabilities, empower them, and build their social, health, and economic skills.
The Council’s pavilion also includes a display of handcrafted products produced by women during the Council’s training within the National Project for Egyptian Family Development, implemented in the villages of the “Decent Life” initiative, in addition to women’s products in other programs and projects, in addition to organizing interactive workshops for the public to train female pioneers of the exhibition on crafts such as painting on fabric and making glove dolls.
The Council is also scheduled to organize two symposiums within the activities of the book fair; the first symposium is titled “Collective Branding as a Tool for Development and Heritage Preservation” and another is entitled “Protecting Women from Electronic Threats and Blackmail”.
