National Bank of Egypt and El Sewedy Electric Launch New Dual-Technical Education Academy in 10th of Ramadan City

The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has signed a cooperation protocol with the El Sewedy Electric Foundation, providing EGP 80 million in financial support to establish a new dual-technical education school, “El Sewedy–NBE Technical Academy”, in the industrial city of 10th of Ramadan.

The agreement was finalized during the graduation ceremony of a new cohort of students from El Sewedy Academy, attended by high-profile officials including Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation; Ghada Tawfik, Assistant Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt for CSR; Dina Abou Taleb, Head of Marketing and Community Development at NBE; Sadiq El Sewedy, Chairman of El Sewedy Electric Group; Ahmed El Sewedy, Chairman of El Sewedy Electric Foundation, along with representatives from several embassies and the Ministries of Industry, Trade, and Social Solidarity.


Strengthening a Long-Standing Education Partnership

Dina Abou Taleb emphasized that the protocol builds on years of successful collaboration between NBE and the El Sewedy Foundation. She noted that the bank previously funded 291 students with three-year scholarships totaling EGP 27.5 million, in addition to supporting 671 students at El Sewedy University with four-year scholarships amounting to EGP 70 million over the past three years.

Abou Taleb highlighted that this new initiative reflects NBE’s commitment to investing in human capital, underscoring that technical education is a cornerstone of sustainable development and a direct driver of employment opportunities for young people. She added that the partnership with El Sewedy represents a robust model of integration between the banking and industrial sectors to serve the community and prepare youth for a competitive labor market.


Catalyzing  Egypt’s Technical Education Ecosystem

Engineer Ahmed El Sewedy expressed pride in the ongoing cooperation with the National Bank of Egypt, affirming that the new protocol marks a significant step toward strengthening Egypt’s technical education system. He explained that El Sewedy Academy aims to graduate a generation equipped with both academic knowledge and hands-on skills tailored to modern industrial requirements.

He added that NBE’s financial support will help expand the establishment of technical schools and provide advanced facilities capable of meeting the evolving needs of industry.

This initiative comes as part of the National Bank of Egypt’s broader efforts to elevate technical education as a key engine for economic and social development. By enabling young people to acquire practical, job-ready skills, the partnership aims to build a highly qualified workforce capable of accelerating industrial growth and driving Egypt’s development goals.
