Joining the worldwide demonstrations, Millions of Pro-Palestine protestors flooded the streets of numerous cities across the globe, including Berlin, Ankara, Washington, Ottawa, London, Milan, Paris, New York, Jakarta (with 2 million+), and many more, demanding a ceasefire in Gaza and denouncing Israel’s inhumane aggression against Palestinian civilians, especially in Gaza and the West Bank.
Nearly 10,000 Palestinians have lost their lives in Gaza and the West Bank Strip, including 4,500 children, and the death toll is rapidly rising, in addition to over 33,000 more have been injured.
According to Egyptian Streets, thousands of people swarmed Pennsylvania Avenue, the street that leads to the White House, in Washington, D.C., to express their disapproval at the Biden administration’s steadfast backing of Israel and IDF’s ongoing violence in Gaza.
The Palestinian-led community group ‘Within Our Lifetime’ organized a march that stretched from the Brooklyn Museum to the Brooklyn Bridge as marchers shouted “Free, Free Palestine”.
Furthermore, during the busiest hours of the shopping district, over 350 protestors staged a sit-in protest that partially closed Oxford Street. In addition, an estimated 40,000 citizens gathered in London’s Trafalgar Square, calling for an end to hostilities in Gaza. While in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, an astounding crowd that surpassed 2 million pro-Palestinian people Marched through the heart of the city and demanded their government to interfere and put an end to Israel’s attacks on the Strip.
The global turnout is a continuation of the rallies that began when Israel initiated attacks on Gaza in response to the unexpected strikes carried out by Hamas on October 7.
The protestors pleaded for an end to hostilities and voiced their frustration with their elected officials for continuing to blindly support Israel in its ongoing military assault on the Gaza Strip for over a month now.
