AXA Egypt has announced a major strategic transformation, unifying all its operations in the Egyptian market under one integrated AXA umbrella, alongside key leadership changes aimed at accelerating growth, innovation, and financial inclusion.
Starting early 2026, AXA Egypt will operate through a single, unified business model, bringing together its insurance, healthcare, and inclusive finance activities. The move reflects AXA’s long-term commitment to Egypt and its ambition to deliver fully integrated solutions that place customer protection, healthcare excellence, and innovation at the heart of growth.
Strategic Integration to Strengthen AXA’s Impact in Egypt
The unification of operations is designed to enhance collaboration across AXA’s entities, maximize efficiency, and deliver a seamless customer experience. AXA said the new model will enable the group to:
- Offer integrated insurance and healthcare solutions
- Expand financial inclusion
- Operate with greater agility and efficiency
- Strengthen governance and innovation capabilities
This transformation aligns with AXA’s broader regional vision to scale impact through flexible and future-ready operating models.
A Seasoned Leader with Cross-Sector Expertise
As part of this transformation, AXA announced the appointment of Minoush Abdel Meguid as Chief Executive Officer of AXA in Egypt, subject to regulatory approvals.
In her new role, Abdel Meguid will lead the group’s three core entities in Egypt:
- AXA Egypt, the group’s insurance arm operating since 2015
- OneHealth, AXA’s integrated healthcare platform delivering more than one million medical consultations annually
- SWAY (Sowa), the joint venture with the Egyptian National Postal Authority for Investment, which is set to launch Egypt’s first comprehensive insurance company
Her appointment supports the implementation of one unified AXA vision and strategy, under the leadership of Neria Fernández, CEO of AXA Africa & Turkey.
Minoush Abdel Meguid brings over 25 years of experience across banking, FMCG, and the automotive industry, in addition to senior leadership roles at Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA). She has led multiple business transformations across diverse sectors.
She joined AXA in July 2025 to lead SWAY, and now assumes the role of CEO of AXA Egypt, with a mandate to:
- Unite AXA’s entities under one brand
- Deliver a holistic AXA customer experience
- Strengthen employee-centric culture
- Drive sustainable social and economic impact
Building on a 10-year legacy in Egypt, and working closely with leadership teams across AXA Egypt, OneHealth, and SWAY, Abdel Meguid will lead the next growth phase, aligned with AXA’s ambition to double its business size in Egypt by 2030.
