The Ministry of Health and Population said that the health units affiliated with the President’s initiative to support women’s health provide free examination and treatment for women over 18.
In its statements, the ministry added that it is possible to inquire about places where the Women’s Health Initiative services are available through the hotline 15335.
The ministry’s statement pointed out that the initiative follows the latest international protocols for treating breast cancer through 14 centers affiliated with the ministry, in addition to activating those protocols in 14 centers affiliated with the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, free of charge, pointing out that these centers are being prepared for applied research to advance research centers in treating oncology, within the vision of the political leadership to take care of the public health of citizens.
For his part, Minister Abdul Ghaffar explained that the initiative targets women starting from the age of 18 years and includes detecting non-communicable diseases (diabetes, blood pressure, measuring weight and height, determining the body mass index, and the level of obesity or overweight), in addition to raising awareness of the risk factors that cause non-communicable diseases, in addition to raising awareness about reproductive health and family planning.
The ministry further called on women to periodically check on their health condition through the services provided by the sustainable initiative, stressing that early diagnosis and detection of breast tumors contribute to reducing the burden on the patient and the state through effective response to the treatment protocols provided by the initiative free of charge, following the latest international standards.
