The Ministry of Health and AstraZeneca Egypt have launched the “Doctor’s Beginning” program to improve the skills of Egyptian doctors, in collaboration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow. This initiative is part of Egypt’s broader effort to invest in human capital and align with the country’s Vision 2030.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health, signed the agreement alongside Dr. Hatem El Wardani, Chairman of AstraZeneca Egypt, at a ceremony attended by British Ambassador Gareth Bayley and Dr. Hani Atiba, President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Abdel Ghaffar emphasized that the program reflects Egypt’s commitment to enhancing the capabilities of its healthcare professionals through internationally recognized training. This collaboration supports Vision 2030 by helping to create a healthcare system that meets international standards.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the Ministry’s spokesperson, explained that the program will focus on new graduates specializing in primary care and family medicine. Participants will benefit from specialized lectures covering the latest treatment protocols and the importance of early disease detection.

The training courses, accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, will cover a variety of medical specialties, including cardiology, nephrology, pulmonology, immunology, oncology, and chronic diseases. The program will also focus on early diagnosis and the latest medical technologies.

Upon completion of the program, participants will undergo evaluations to receive certifications accredited by both the Ministry of Health and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.

ِAmb. Gareth Bayley expressed pride in the UK-Egypt partnership and the growing cooperation in the healthcare and education sectors. Dr. Hani Atiba emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between Egypt and the UK, while AstraZeneca’s Dr. Hatem El Wardani reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting public-private partnerships to build a robust, sustainable healthcare system for Egypt’s future.
