The meeting took place at the General Office of the Ministry of Military Production in the New Administrative Capital government district.

Mostafa commenced the meeting by extending a warm welcome to Fouad and her accompanying delegation, offering congratulations on her appointment to the Ministry of Environment portfolio.

He emphasized the importance of the meeting in light of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives and the Prime Minister’s ongoing oversight of the ministries involved in the solid waste management system.

According to MENA he underscored the significance of the projects being carried out within this framework, particularly those contributing to the shift towards clean energy. He highlighted that these initiatives not only help in the preservation of the environment and the mitigation of potential climate changes but also bring about health benefits for citizens and offer economic advantages.

Furthermore, he elaborated that the meeting addressed the current status of the project under the protocol signed between the Ministries of Military Production, Environment, Local Development, and Giza Governorate. This substantial-scale project aims to convert waste into electrical energy, with a daily capacity of 1200 tons, generating 30 megawatts/hour in the Abu Rawash area of Giza Governorate.

He emphasized that all involved parties are committed to fostering collaboration and expediting the implementation of this project to enhance the environmental, health, and living standards of citizens, while also decreasing pollution levels and establishing a domestic waste management industry to produce electricity.
