Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Maya Morsy, held a coordination meeting via video conference with Dr. Samah Hamad, Minister of Social Development and Minister of State for Palestinian Relief Affairs. The meeting witnessed the presence of Dr. Amal Imam, Executive Director of the Egyptian Red Crescent, and Mr. Khaled Abu Ghosh, Director General of the Palestinian Red Crescent.
This meeting was part of ongoing efforts for continued monitoring and joint coordination to address the urgent needs of Gaza amid escalating humanitarian challenges.
The meeting focused on reviewing the latest developments regarding the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza and assessing the pressing needs faced by the Palestinian people in the region.
Minister Morsy reassured her Palestinian counterpart regarding the condition of the children who had been transferred to Egyptian hospitals for treatment. She mentioned having visited several children who underwent heart surgeries at Egyptian hospitals.
In response, the Palestinian Minister expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the Palestinian government to the Egyptian government and people, acknowledging the continued support provided by the Egyptian Red Crescent over the past sixteen months.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties stressed the importance of holding regular coordination meetings to follow up on developments and to coordinate joint humanitarian efforts.
