Minister of Local Development In Talks with North Sinai Governor

Egypt’s Minister of Local Development,Dr. Manal Awad, met today with Major General Dr. Khaled Megaweer, the Governor of North Sinai, to discuss  the governorate’s ongoing efforts to improve living conditions and public services.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Local Development, the two officials discussed the governorate’s initiatives to enhance cleanliness, manage solid waste, and address the challenges posed by the cold weather conditions in the region. The Ministry emphasized its continued support for these efforts and committed to providing the necessary resources for further improvements.

During the meeting, Dr. Awad also highlighted the Ministry’s support for projects aimed at empowering women in North Sinai. She encouraged the private sector to increase investments in the area and create more employment opportunities for local residents, particularly in sectors that could improve the region’s economic stability.

This meeting comes after Dr. Awad’s recent visit to North Sinai, where she laid the foundation stone for two major projects in the city of Arish. These projects include the construction of a new central market covering 5,750 square meters and the establishment of a permanent exhibition space spanning 2,550 square meters. Both projects are part of ongoing efforts to stimulate local economic development and improve the standard of living for the people of North Sinai.

The meeting between Dr. Awad and Governor Megaweer reflects the government’s continued commitment to supporting the development of Sinai and addressing the unique challenges faced by its residents.
