Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Hesham Okasha, CEO of Banque Misr, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Information Technology Institute (ITI), a subsidiary of the Ministry of Communications, and Banque Misr. This collaboration aims to support the development of young talent and provide specialized training for recent graduates, enhancing their employment opportunities at the bank across various technological fields. The focus will be on high-demand and advanced technologies, including networking, web applications, cybersecurity, and cloud computing, among others.
The protocol was signed by Dr. Heba Saleh, President of ITI, and Hany El-Semera, Head of Human Resources at Banque Misr, with the presence of Hossam Abdel Wahab, Deputy CEO of Banque Misr.
In his remarks, Dr. Talaat highlighted the significance of this collaboration in providing specialized training to build a skilled digital workforce in two critical areas: software development, which will enhance Banque Misr’s ability to deliver better, more efficient services to its clients, and cybersecurity, which is increasingly crucial as the bank expands its digital systems and protects them from cyber threats. He emphasized that this cooperation aligns with the Ministry’s strategy to build digital capabilities and expand the skillset in various technological fields, preparing young people for the job market. Dr. Talaat expressed his hope to further expand this partnership, incorporating new areas of training, including artificial intelligence.
On the other hand, CEO of Banque Misr, explained that the partnership is part of the bank’s strategy to address the growing technological demands of the banking sector. He emphasized that the collaboration would help develop the necessary skills for graduates, particularly in cybersecurity, to meet these evolving needs. Okasha noted that investing in human resources is a key focus for the bank, which believes that providing opportunities for growth and the acquisition of future-ready skills is essential for maintaining the strength of Egypt’s banking sector through informed leadership. He further stressed the bank’s commitment to continuous development of its workforce, including the enhancement of training policies and programs, as the bank considers its employees its most valuable asset.
Dr. Heba Saleh, President of ITI, underscored the importance of the collaboration in strengthening the partnership between the institute and Banque Misr. The training program is designed to keep pace with technological developments and meet the banking sector’s need for skilled IT professionals. Dr. Saleh explained that the program is in line with ITI’s vision to foster integration with various institutions, industry partners, and the banking sector, enabling young people to gain technical skills and hands-on experience to compete effectively in the job market. It also supports Banque Misr’s strategy to enhance and develop young talent, preparing them for the workforce.
This collaboration is part of the ongoing efforts to implement the joint training academy between ITI and Banque Misr, aimed at enhancing the skills of young professionals and training specialized talent in various technology fields. The initiative focuses on increasing the opportunities for qualified individuals to join the bank, particularly in areas such as information technology, digital transformation, and cybersecurity.
Under the protocol, the two parties will collaborate on designing the training program, selecting trainees, overseeing graduate projects, creating job opportunities, and conducting final evaluations of the program. ITI will handle the execution of the program in line with Banque Misr’s training plans to stay ahead of developments in the IT sector.
Additionally, Banque Misr will provide over 500 educational accounts on the global Udemy platform for ITI, valid for one year, which will be distributed by the institute to its students across different programs.
