Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat launched on Wednesday, March 29, the 2022 Annual Report “International Partnerships for Sustainable Development: From Pledges to Implementation” in the presence of multilateral and bilateral development partners.
The minister stated that the report highlighted joint work with bilateral and multilateral development partners over the past years in light of the challenges facing the development process worldwide.
During the launch of the annual report at the headquarters of the Ministry of International Cooperation, representatives of development partners applauded the constructive partnerships with the government and the sustainability of the implemented partnerships based on the national priorities of the Government of Egypt to implement the SDGs and increase the participation of the private sector in development through development funds and technical support, referring to continuous coordination to enhance collective action for comprehensive and sustainable development efforts.
Furthermore, representatives of development partners emphasized that the annual report of the Ministry of International Cooperation is a comprehensive work that documents a joint effort between all international institutions and the government to coordinate efforts to overcome development challenges.
The opening of the report included the speech that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi delivered during the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27), which highlighted the importance of swift and effective action to cut emissions and secure needed funds for developing countries to confront the global climate crisis.
The report is divided into three parts; the first part is on responding to emergency needs, the second is under the title “From Egypt to the world”, and the third is entitled “Egypt…chances”.
Finally, Mashat thanked all development partners for their fruitful cooperation over the past year, noting that this reflects Egypt’s approach to promoting cooperation with several parties to push forward development efforts following Egypt Vision 2030, referring to the launch of the national climate change strategy 2050.
