Local Development Minister  Reviews Preparations for Grand Egyptian Museum Inauguration Celebration

Egypt’s Minister of Local Development, Dr. Manal Awad, held a conference today with a group of governors from key Egyptian cities and senior officials from the United Media Services (UMS), including Tarek Nour, Chairman of the United Media Services Company, and Tarek Makhlouf, Managing Director of United Media Services, alongside Mohamed El-Saadi, UMS  board member, to discuss final preparations for the highly anticipated opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

The meeting included governors from Cairo, Alexandria, Giza, Aswan, and South Sinai, as well as deputy governors from Luxor and Matrouh. Also present were leading figures such as Engineer Khaled Abbas, Chairman of the New Administrative Capital Company, and Mr. Tarek Nour, Chairman of the United Media Services Company, along with other officials from various ministries including local development, housing, and environmental affairs.

During the meeting, the minister emphasized the significant attention given to the event by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Dr. Awad noted that the celebrations would reflect the grandeur and rich history of Egypt, ensuring they are executed to the highest standards.

“The Egyptian President’s interest in this event reflects the importance of ensuring that this celebration aligns with Egypt’s legacy and history,” said Dr. Awad. “We are committed to exerting all necessary efforts to ensure that the preparations meet the highest standards, as we approach the opening day.”

National Celebrations and Local Efforts

The primary focus of the meeting was on the roles of various Egyptian governorates in the upcoming celebrations, which are set to highlight Egypt’s global cultural heritage. Dr. Awad affirmed that specific events are planned across several provinces, all aimed at amplifying Egypt’s cultural and tourism appeal, drawing attention to the country’s invaluable historical landmarks.

In line with the Prime Minister’s directives, the meeting outlined the strategic coordination required to ensure smooth execution and to effectively promote Egypt’s tourist destinations. The United Media Services Company provided insights into how these celebrations would boost Egypt’s tourism sector, ensuring international recognition and support.

The discussions also centered on raising awareness of Egypt’s ancient history and heritage, aiming to create a global platform for the Egyptian people to showcase their timeless contributions to civilization.

Commitment to Excellence and Ongoing Coordination

At the conclusion of the meeting, all parties agreed to hold regular follow-up meetings to ensure the timely and effective implementation of all plans. Dr. Awad confirmed that the local authorities, in collaboration with United Media Services, would continue to provide full support and coordinate with various ministries and concerned entities to ensure the event’s success.

The preparations for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum are part of a larger national effort to elevate Egypt’s cultural heritage on the world stage, cementing the country’s place as a leading global tourist and cultural destination.
