Egypt’s Minister of Local Development, Dr. Manal Awad, announced that investments in the waste management system in South Sinai have exceeded EGP 147 million. This announcement was made during a meeting with the Minister of Environment, Yasmine Fouad, and the Governor of South Sinai, where the focus was placed on ensuring the sustainability of green environmental projects in Sharm El-Sheikh, particularly those launched during the COP27 climate conference.
The Minister highlighted the ongoing efforts in integrated waste management, which include the establishment of sanitary landfills, intermediate stations, and waste treatment and recycling services, all part of a broader investment strategy valued at 147 million EGP.
