Israel has agreed to a four-day truce; the agreement stipulates a complete ceasefire and pausing all hostilities during the truce period, the release of 50 Israeli prisoners from Gaza in exchange for 150 Palestinians from Israeli prisons, and the entry of hundreds of trucks loaded with humanitarian relief, medical aid, and fuel to all areas of the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian news agency, Wafa, stated that the number of prisoners in Israeli prisons has reached 7,500, including 72 women and 250 children, while over 3,000 Palestinians were taken captive after October 7.
The conditions of the truce include the following terms:
– Release 3 Palestinian prisoners, women and children, for each Israeli prisoner.
– The release within 4 days of 50 Israeli prisoners of women and children under the age of 19.
– Daily entry of 200 trucks of humanitarian relief and medical supplies to all areas of the Gaza Strip.
– Daily introduction of 4 trucks of fuel and cooking gas.
– The truce goes into effect at 7 a.m. on Friday, November 24, 2023.
– The truce is valid for 4 days, accompanied by the cessation of all military actions.
– Hostile aircraft have completely ceased to fly in southern Gaza.
– Hostile aircraft would stop flying above north Gaza and the middle area for 6 hours a day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The first day of Friday’s four-day temporary truce brokered by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States saw Hamas release 13 Israeli women and children detainees while Israel released 39 women and children.
On Friday, Israel released 39 detainees, 24 women and 15 children, at the Ofer military prison, west of Ramallah, and from the “Russian Compound” detention center in Jerusalem as part of the first phase of the exchange deal with Hamas.
