The International Conference on Social Security Management and Innovation, under the auspices of Egypt’s Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, has commenced in Cairo. The event, hosted by the National Social Insurance Authority in collaboration with the International Social Security Association (ISSA), is taking place from February 11 to 13, 2025. It features the active participation of representatives from 138 international organizations and agencies across 81 countries globally.
Opening Remarks and Welcoming Participants
In his opening speech, Maj. Gen. Gamal Awad, Chairman of the National Social Insurance Authority, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly for his esteemed sponsorship of this prestigious event, which highlights the government’s dedication to social security and pension schemes. Awad also welcomed several notable attendees, including Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Mohamed Ezzman, President of the International Social Security Association (ISSA), Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, Minister of Labor Mohamed Gabran, Dr. Ihab Abou Eish, Deputy Head of the Health Insurance Authority, and various international delegations.

Awad emphasized that innovation is no longer a mere option, but a necessity for ensuring more efficient and effective social protection systems. He stated, “Through this conference, we hope to discuss how to improve the accessibility of vulnerable groups to these systems and how to develop work mechanisms to meet the growing needs of society.” He also highlighted that this international gathering aims to foster strong partnerships between countries, institutions, and international organizations for knowledge exchange and to develop innovative solutions to enhance global social security systems.
