The inaugural African Women Achievers Awards & Summit 2024 took place in Kigali, Rwanda celebrated the extraordinary accomplishments of women across the continent. Organized by Mayorkings Agency Group under the leadership of Amb. Dr. Temisan O. Louis, the summit marked a significant milestone in promoting women’s empowerment and excellence.
Amb. Dr. Louis expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We are delighted to have created a space where African women can showcase their achievements and inspire others. This summit is a testament to the incredible talent and potential of women in Africa.”
The summit offered a unique platform for women from diverse backgrounds to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another. It was the first event of its kind in Kigali, and its success has paved the way for future annual editions.
A highlight of the summit was the establishment of the African Women Achievers Forum (AWAF). Prof. Dr. Martha Namundjebo-Tilahun was appointed as the President of the Forum, while Amb. Dr. Nobomi Tshongweni took on the role of Executive Secretary. Additionally, Side Country Directors were appointed to support the Forum’s initiatives.
The establishment of AWAF is a crucial step in ensuring the sustainability of women’s empowerment efforts in Africa. The Forum will serve as a platform for advocacy, networking, and collaboration among African women leaders.
