For the second consecutive year, the Industrial Development Bank (IDB) took part in a community walking and running marathon organized by the Ahmed Bahaa El–Din Friends Association at the New Giza Sports Club, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to social and cultural development initiatives in Upper Egypt.
The bank said its participation reflects a broader belief in initiatives that expand educational and cultural opportunities for children and youth in underserved communities, while also promoting sports as a healthy lifestyle and raising awareness of social inclusion, particularly for people with disabilities.
Promoting Sports, Inclusion, and Social Awareness
The marathon brought together participants from across the community, highlighting the role of sports in fostering social cohesion and encouraging active lifestyles. Organizers emphasized the event’s inclusive nature, which aims to integrate people with disabilities and amplify awareness of key social issues through community engagement.
IDB noted that such initiatives align with its strategy to support programs that generate measurable social impact beyond traditional banking activities.
Employee Engagement and Team Spirit
A broad group of bank employees participated in the event, underscoring IDB’s emphasis on employee engagement and teamwork. Bank officials said the collective participation helped strengthen internal bonds among staff while contributing to a shared sense of purpose and positive energy.
Long-Term Partnerships for Sustainable Development
The bank emphasized that its continued involvement in the marathon is part of a long-term vision to strengthen its role as a community-oriented financial institution, through sustainable partnerships with civil society organizations working to uplift local communities—particularly in Upper Egypt.
This approach, the bank said, supports Egypt’s broader sustainable development goals by combining social responsibility with long-term community investment.
