Huda Beauty’s Founder and Brand Owner, Huda Kattan, posted a video on TikTok recently stating that she will not stop talking about Palestine and that she is willing to risk her entire career over her stance on the Palestinian cause.
In her video, the beauty entrepreneur said, quote: I’m willing to risk my entire business, everything that I have on that. In search of the truth and justice, we have to be willing to do that.
She added: We have to remember that we can’t be afraid to lose anything, we have to trust the process, and we have to trust that if we lose something, something else will come to us the right way because we are doing good work.
After receiving multiple threats pushing her to be silent and basically tone down her pro-Palestine posts, Kattan stressed that she won’t be intimidated because she believes that she’s speaking on behalf of humanity and feels no remorse for highlighting Israel’s invasion of Gaza and the war crimes it continues to commit against Palestinians.
Moreover, Huda criticized the notion that she was being “antisemitic” by talking about innocent people being hurt and stated that she will most definitely keep being vocal about the humanitarian crisis happening in Palestine.
She ended her video with these words: I am more afraid to not speak my truth and to become a coward and a tool of the disgusting system that has allowed too many people to be oppressed for too long. And anybody who tries to get people to be silent for doing good work, you are pro-genocide and you are pro the killing of innocent people.
Over a month ago the beauty mogul released a statement, saying: It’s been a month of immense suffering in Gaza, and unfortunately, things are getting worse. It is important that we always stand on the side of the oppressed and use our platform to shed light on any injustice.
It is worth mentioning that Kattan is one of the few beauty figures who has been vocal on the Gaza crisis, with the industry having had a largely muted response to the war.
She has always been a strong supporter of Palestine, even before the Hamas-Israel war, having previously condemned the illegal displacement of Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah, East Jerusalem, back in 2021.
Additionally, in October 2023, she donated US$1 million to Human Appeal and Doctors Without Borders, two humanitarian groups that assist Palestinians who have been displaced as a consequence of Israel’s invasion.
