Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour has asserted his ministry’s keenness on boosting joint Arab cooperation and the exchange of expertise among Arab states.
Ashour made the remarks during his participation in the 44th ordinary session of the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils (FASRC), which is organized by the Arab League in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and the FASRC.
The minister pointed out to the pivotal role played by the Arab bodies, organizations and federations concerned with higher education, scientific research, innovation and intellectual property in supporting, creating and developing effective mechanisms in research.
He said those bodies and organizations bring Arab researchers together to achieve relevant common Arab goals.
On that score, Ashour highlighted the efforts exerted by Arab entities such as the FASRC and the Association of Arab Universities in addition to UN agencies like the UNESCO, ISESCO and ALECSO.
He also praised the key role played by the Arab League to fulfill the Arab world’s hopes for unity and progress.
Meanwhile, the minister said the FASRC meeting is a real opportunity to find out what should be done to advance scientific cooperation among Arab countries in light of the current major regional and international challenges.
