Gallery Son will host two solo exhibitions by Egyptian-Norwegian artist Britt Boutros Ghali, the first in Berlin on May 1, 2025, coinciding with “Berlin Art Weekend,” running until June 28. The second exhibition will take place in Seoul, South Korea, with the exact dates to be announced later.
Britt is an esteemed Norwegian-Egyptian abstract expressionist n Europe. Her works blend gestural abstraction and color with a distinctive sensitivity to texture and material. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of personal and cultural experiences, her paintings evoke memories of her childhood during World War II, the Scandinavian landscape, and her Egyptian heritage.
The Berlin exhibition marks her first solo show in Germany since the 1970s, featuring new works characterized by energy and movement, while maintaining a strong connection to her personal history and cultural symbolism.
Britt’s works have been widely displayed in both private and public institutions. In recognition of her contributions to Norwegian art, she was awarded the Royal Order of Saint Olav in 1996. In 2023, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Council for Women in Egypt.
