Foreign Min. Meets with Head of Central Agency for Organization and Administration to Strengthen State’s Administrative Efficiency

On Thursday, January 30, 2025, Dr. Badr Abdel-Atty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, met with Dr. Saleh Sheikh, Head of the Central Agency for Organization and Administration, at the agency’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

The primary focus of the meeting was on the vital role of the Central Agency in enhancing the efficiency of the state’s administrative apparatus. Minister Abdel-Atty emphasized the importance of the agency’s efforts in building administrative capacity and providing training to government personnel, which directly contributes to improving the performance and effectiveness of public institutions.

Minister Abdel-Atty discussed how the Ministry of Foreign Affairs could further benefit from the agency’s training programs, specifically to enhance the administrative capabilities of its staff and consular offices across Egypt. Both officials agreed on the necessity of providing the required human resources to meet the ministry’s administrative needs and ensure greater efficiency in its operations.

The minister also highlighted the ministry’s efforts to strengthen cooperation with the Central Agency for Organization and Administration in the field of administrative development and reform. This collaboration extends to sharing expertise with other Arab and African nations, with a particular focus on supporting the work of organizations like the Arab Organization for Administrative Development and the African Association for Public Administration.

The two sides also agreed to launch joint initiatives in the Southern Nile Basin and the Horn of Africa, in partnership with the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development, further supporting the enhancement of administrative systems in these regions.

Additionally, the meeting set plans to organize visits for foreign diplomats accredited in Egypt to witness firsthand the important work carried out by the Central Agency’s Capacity Assessment and Competitions Center, which plays a key role in improving the state’s administrative structure.
