Finance Minister: Cars Replacement Initiative Spearheaded in 15 Governorates in 2 Years

Finance Minister Mohamed Maait said the presidential initiative for replacing old cars has been spearheaded in 15 governorates since its launch two years ago.

In a statement by the Finance Ministry, Maait said the state treasury bore EGP 650 bn in green incentives for 26,450 new cars operating by natural gas that were handed over to their owners.

This move falls within the framework of the government’s efforts to realize the importance of green transition and promote the use of eco-friendly vehicles in various governorates.

The 15 governorates are Ismailia, Sharqiya, Beheira, Beni Suef, Sohag, Luxor, Aswan, Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Qaliobiya, Port Said, Suez, the Red Sea, and South Sinai, he said, noting that efforts are underway to cover all governorates.
