Dr. Maya Morsy, Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity, and Maj. Gen. Dr. Khaled Mubarak, Governor of South Sinai, visited the “Diarna” Handicrafts and Heritage Exhibition on the sidelines of the 25th International Congress of Supreme Audit Institutions (INCOSAI 25), currently taking place in Sharm El-Sheikh.

The exhibition, organized at the city’s Grand Conference Center, showcases a wide range of traditional Egyptian crafts and handmade products from across the country. The visit aimed to highlight Egypt’s efforts to support artisans, preserve cultural heritage, and promote local craftsmanship to international visitors attending the global conference.

During her tour, Dr. Morsy met with exhibitors and praised the high quality and diversity of the products on display. She emphasized the importance of Diarna’s presence at major international events, describing it as a valuable platform for marketing Egyptian handicrafts and introducing global audiences to the richness of Egypt’s artistic traditions.

The Diarna exhibition reflects Egypt’s deep-rooted cultural identity and the creativity of our artisans. Participating in international gatherings such as INCOSAI offers an opportunity to expand markets and empower local producers,” Morsy said.

Earlier, the Minister participated in the opening session of the 25th International Congress of Supreme Audit Institutions, held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The high-level event brought together Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Vital de Rego, President of Brazil’s Federal Court of Accounts and current INTOSAI President, and Dr. Margit Kraker, Secretary-General of INTOSAI and President of Austria’s Court of Audit, alongside ministers and heads of audit authorities from around the world.

During the inaugural session, Egypt officially assumed the presidency of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), represented by the Central Auditing Organization (CAO), for the next three years, marking the beginning of a new phase of international cooperation in public financial oversight.
