In a strong start to the season, Habiba Hany, one of Egypt’s most promising young players, clinched the Bega Open title in Australia, a Bronze-level PSA event held from August 13 to 17. The tournament offered $27,500 in prize money and marked the first major event of the new tour calendar.
Hany delivered a commanding performance in the final, defeating top-seeded Indian player Anahat Singh 3–1 in just 28 minutes. The match scores were:
