Egypt’s PM Reviews Urban Development Across Egypt With Meets UDF Chairman

Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, met on Monday night with Khaled Sediq, chairman of the Urban Development Fund (UDF), to discuss the progress of various projects underway across the country. The meeting underscored the government’s commitment to enhancing urban development and improving living conditions for citizens.

Progress on the Darah Provincial Capitals Development Project

During the meeting, Sediq provided an update on the Darah Provincial Capitals Development Project, highlighting significant achievements and the results of its marketing plan. Since January 2024, 7,488 residential units have been sold in several governorates, including Cairo, Qalyubiya, Kafr el-Sheikh, Sharqiyah, Daqahlia, Fayoum, Minya, Sohag, and Qena. This figure reflects strong demand for housing and the effectiveness of the UDF’s outreach efforts.

Update on the “Fustat View” Venture

Sediq also reviewed the “Fustat View” project, which aims to revitalize residential offerings in historic neighborhoods. He noted that out of 320 residential units developed in the first phase, 306 have been sold. This success demonstrates the project’s appeal and the ongoing efforts to attract investment and interest in urban redevelopment.

Revitalizing Historical Cairo

In addition, Sediq informed Madbouly about initiatives to revitalize historical Cairo. He shared details about the  renovated buildings and archaeological sites in the area, emphasizing the government’s dedication to preserving Egypt’s rich cultural heritage while enhancing urban living. This effort aligns with broader national strategies aimed at boosting tourism and fostering community engagement in historic locales.

The discussion between Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and UDF Chairman Khaled Sediq highlights the Egyptian government’s proactive approach to urban development. As part of  Egypt’s effort s to improve the urban landscape, the Darah Provincial Capitals Development Project and the “Fustat View” venture will  enhance the quality of life for residents and preserve the country’s historical assets for future generations.
