Amal Ammar, President of Egypt’s National Council for Women (NCW), met with Dr. Afnan Al-Shuaibi, Executive Director of the Women Development Organization (WDO) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to discuss closer cooperation in advancing women’s empowerment across OIC member states.
During the meeting, they explored joint strategies to support women’s participation in development at both national and international levels. Discussions focused on future collaboration, shared initiatives, and ways to align efforts to support women in all sectors.
Ammar highlighted Egypt’s achievements in promoting gender equality and reiterated the NCW’s commitment to advancing women’s roles in economic, social, and political spheres. She praised the WDO’s mission, emphasizing the importance of unified regional efforts to accelerate progress.
Dr. Al-Shuaibi commended the NCW’s leadership and outlined the WDO’s upcoming strategic plans, reaffirming her organization’s support for Egypt’s national agenda on women’s rights.
The meeting underscored Egypt’s growing role as a regional leader in women’s empowerment and laid the groundwork for deeper collaboration between the NCW and international partners.
