In a significant move to advance social care and education for girls, Egypt’s Ministry of Social Solidarity signed a cooperation protocol with Misr El Kheir Foundation aimed at improving and developing educational and developmental services at the Al-Agouza Girls’ Care Institution. The partnership reflects the ministry’s ongoing commitment to upgrading social care facilities and providing safe, supportive environments that foster growth and empowerment for young girls.

The protocol was signed by Dr. Wael Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Head of the Central Administration for Social Care at the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and Dr. Saber Hassan, Head of the Education Sector at Misr El Kheir Foundation. The ceremony was also attended by Hussein Ismail, Director General of the Ministry’s Social Defense Administration, alongside senior officials from the foundation.

The collaboration is part of the ministry’s broader vision to develop social care systems across its institutions through strategic partnerships with civil society organizations. The initiative focuses on elevating the quality of services provided to girls, creating an environment that nurtures their educational, psychological, and social development.

This partnership marks a critical step toward enhancing comprehensive care for girls at Al-Agouza, providing a safe educational and developmental setting,” said Dr. Abdel Aziz. “Through this cooperation, we aim to support educational programs, implement specialized activities that enhance the girls’ skills and capabilities, and improve the efficiency of the institution’s staff — all of which positively impact the quality of care provided.”

Dr. Abdel Aziz also emphasized the value of continuous collaboration with Misr El Kheir, highlighting that the partnership aligns with Egypt’s sustainable development goals and demonstrates the synergy between the government and civil society in empowering girls.

Dr. Hassan outlined the foundation’s planned initiatives under the protocol, including assessing technical and educational needs, designing psychological and educational support activities, conducting professional development programs for teachers, and implementing skill-building activities for the girls. The foundation will also provide all necessary resources and supplies to support these activities within the care institution.

The protocol will remain in effect until September 2026, with the possibility of renewal based on implementation results and mutual agreement.

“This collaboration underscores Misr El Kheir Foundation’s commitment to supporting education and community development”, strengthening integration with state institutions and civil society to achieve sustainable development goals, and ensuring that girls have access to education and a dignified life,” Dr. Hassan concluded.
