Egypt’s Int’l Cooperation Minister in Meeting with Toyota Tsusho GM

Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation, Rania Mashat, emphasized the government’s commitment to securing support for Japanese companies and foreign investments during a meeting with Hiroumi Ohara, General Manager of Africa Power and Infrastructure at Toyota Tsusho. The discussion focused on Toyota Tsusho’s expansion plans in Egypt, marking over 90 years of the company’s presence in the country.

Mashat, who is visiting Japan for the 70th anniversary of development cooperation between the two nations, outlined Egypt’s efforts to enhance the investment climate, encourage sustainable growth, and ensure macroeconomic stability amid regional and international challenges.

The minister praised Toyota Tsusho’s contributions to renewable energy projects, including the Gulf of Suez and Ras Ghareb wind plants, as well as its involvement in the management of the newly launched Ro-Ro line, which connects Egypt with Italy. The initiative is part of Egypt’s broader strategy to position itself as a regional hub for transportation, logistics, and transit trade.
