Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, met with Dr. Jacqueline Azar, Governor of Beheira, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to review the progress of ongoing healthcare projects and discuss the expansion of medical services across the governorate. The meeting included senior officials from both the Ministry of Health and the Beheira Governorate.
Highlighting Beheira’s strategic importance due to its population of nearly 7 million residents, Dr. Abdel Ghaffar emphasized the need for full coordination among all relevant agencies to enhance the healthcare system and deliver the highest standard of medical services to citizens.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the Ministry spokesperson, stated that the discussion covered the capacity of the governorate’s healthcare system, the needs of medical facilities, and the optimal allocation of medical personnel based on actual demand. The minister also reviewed the progress of ongoing projects, directing immediate resolution of any obstacles and strict adherence to project timelines.
Key Healthcare Projects and Initiatives
The meeting focused on several critical initiatives, including:
- Ongoing works at Badr, Housh Eissa, and Abu Homs Central Hospitals.
- Development of Kafr El Dawar Health Insurance Hospital.
- Plans for a Children’s Oncology Center in Sanhour village, Damanhour.
- Establishment of a Center of Excellence for Natural Births at Mahmoudiya Hospital.
Additionally, discussions emphasized improving the efficiency of healthcare facilities and primary care units, enhancing safe natural birth programs, reducing unnecessary cesarean sections, and modernizing medical waste disposal systems.
Azar expressed her gratitude to the minister and ministry teams, affirming her commitment to continuously improving healthcare services in Beheira with the Ministry’s ongoing support nationwide.
