Egypt’s Foreign Minister and Minister of Emigration and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty, met on Saturday with Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women (NCW), for high-level discussions focused on women’s rights and Egypt’s national gender empowerment agenda.

During the meeting, Abdel Aaty praised the pivotal role played by the NCW in advancing the rights of Egyptian women and promoting their participation across political, economic, and social spheres. He underscored the importance of women as integral partners in Egypt’s sustainable development efforts.

The discussion centered on the implementation of the National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women 2030, with Counselor Ammar providing an overview of the Council’s ongoing initiatives and programs aimed at strengthening women’s roles and representation in society. Both parties reaffirmed the importance of continued collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the NCW to highlight Egypt’s efforts to empower women on the international stage.

Abdel Aaty commended the Council’s active engagement in regional and international forums, noting that the inclusion of women’s rights as a core pillar in Egypt’s National Human Rights Strategy reflects the state’s broad commitment—across all institutions—to gender equity and social inclusion.
