In a powerful affirmation of the state’s growing commitment to technical and vocational education, Egypt’s First Lady, Intisar El-Sisi, attended the annual celebration honoring top students from the technical education track for the 2024/2025 academic year. The event, held under the slogan “Proud to Be Technical”, highlighted the country’s strategic focus on technical skills as a cornerstone of sustainable development and national progress.
The ceremony witnessed the ministerial presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education; Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity; and Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development.

34 Full Scholarships for Top Students
In a major announcement during the event, Ashour revealed that, under the directives of the political leadership and in celebration of student achievement, the ministry will be awarding 34 full scholarships to the top-performing technical education students across the country.
These scholarships will support further study at:
- Public universities
- Technological universities
- The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport
- Health technical institutes
The initiative aims to provide high-achieving students with broader educational pathways that match their fields of interest and support national development goals.
Technical Education as a Catalyst for Growth
Minister Ashour emphasized the transformative role technical education plays in shaping Egypt’s workforce, pointing to increased investment in specialized programs and the creation of flexible academic pathways that allow students to transition into fields such as engineering, agriculture, commerce, and tourism.
He also underlined the government’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with both local and international industrial institutions to ensure that academic training aligns with market needs.
Reimagining Future- Ready Education
Egypt’s recent reforms in technical and vocational education reflect a broader strategy to build a skilled, future-ready workforce that meets the demands of a rapidly evolving global economy. Through initiatives like the “Proud to Be Technical” campaign, the state aims to elevate the status of vocational learning, challenge outdated stigmas, and recognize the vital contributions of technical graduates to society and industry.
