Imbedding gender equity across corporate culture, Contact Financial Holding’s insurance arms—Sarwa Insurance and Contact Insurance Brokerage—have entered a strategic partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) Egypt. The collaboration aims to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through targeted insurance solutions and elevate women’s roles within traditionally male-dominated financial sectors.
The partnership is embedded within the broader Joint Programme for Support to SMEs (JPSME), implemented by GIZ Egypt on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The program is part of an ongoing effort to improve Egypt’s labor market and foster sustainable private-sector growth through inclusive practices and cross-border collaboration.
Sarwa Insurance Selected for GIZ’s “InsurGrow Egypt 2025”
As part of the initiative, Sarwa Insurance, Contact’s general insurance arm, joined the “InsurGrow Egypt 2025” program—a six-month accelerator jointly launched by GIZ Egypt and the Insurance Federation of Egypt.
The objective: to design and deploy customized insurance products that cater to Egypt’s vast SME sector, which remains largely underinsured despite accounting for more than 80% of national employment.
Advancing Gender Equity with “Women on Track”
In parallel, Contact Insurance Brokerage has joined GIZ’s flagship “Women on Track” program, aimed at breaking gender barriers and enhancing female leadership representation within Egypt’s insurance and financial sectors.
The initiative includes:
- Institutional policy reviews to identify systemic gaps
- Leadership training programs tailored for women in technical and strategic roles
- Capacity-building workshops to foster inclusive organizational cultures
“Our partnership with GIZ Egypt reflects Contact’s conviction that diversity is not merely a moral imperative but a strategic advantage, one that fuels innovation, competitiveness, and market growth,” said Nehal Break, Chairman & Managing Director of Contact Insurance Brokerage. “By institutionalizing equitable policies, we are creating pathways for women to excel and lead. This initiative aligns with our broader vision to establish new industry standards for gender equality while reinforcing our pledge to sustainable development.”
Economic Resilience and Social Inclusion
This dual-track partnership addresses two of Egypt’s most pressing development goals: economic empowerment of SMEs and the institutionalization of gender equality in economic participation—core pillars of Egypt Vision 2030. GIZ Egypt and Contact Financial Holding are crafting replicable models of cross-sector cooperation, initiatives like InsurGrow and Women on Track
