Egypt’s aviation sector is experiencing significant growth, with new routes and increased flight frequencies bolstering domestic and international tourism.
Air Cairo Expands Domestic Network
Air Cairo, the economic arm of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has announced the launch of a new regular flight route connecting Cairo, Aswan, and Abu Simbel. This strategic move aims to enhance connectivity between key tourist destinations, stimulating air and tourism traffic.
The airline has also increased its weekly flight frequency on existing routes, including Cairo-Aswan, Aswan-Abu Simbel, and Cairo-Luxor. Additionally, Air Cairo is set to launch new domestic flights from Giza’s Sphinx International Airport to Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada, further expanding domestic connectivity.
Etihad Airways Opens New Route to Al Alamein
In another significant development, Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, will commence flights to Al Alamein in July 2025. This new route will offer travelers direct access to Egypt’s stunning northern coast and the historic city of Alexandria.
By expanding its network to Al Alamein, Etihad Airways aims to tap into the growing popularity of Egypt’s Mediterranean coast as a leisure destination. The airline’s modern A320 family aircraft will operate the route twice weekly, providing passengers with a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience.
