Egyptian women, especially from Upper Egypt, are standing out in the 2025 parliamentary elections, demonstrating dedication and resilience by waiting for hours in cold weather to cast their votes. Counselor Ahmed Bendary, Executive Director of the National Elections Authority (NEA), praised their commitment, calling it a “powerful example of civic responsibility and women’s empowerment.”
The United Media Services (UMS) broadcasted the election process live, offering citizens a neutral view of voting activities across the country. Bendary emphasized that UMS coverage showcased voters and committee work without interference, helping the public follow the process in real time and boosting confidence in the elections.
To make voting easier, Bendary encouraged citizens to use the Unified Voter Management System (UMS app), which allows voters to locate their polling stations, check their serial number in the registry, and complete voting in under three minutes.
From Giza and Fayoum to Sohag, Assiut, Qena, Alexandria, and Beheira, women are actively participating, reflecting their growing influence in Egypt’s democratic process.
“Women are at the forefront of shaping the future of parliament,” Bendary noted, underscoring their critical role in civic engagement and nation-building.
