Egyptian weightlifter Sara Samir has won a silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Competing in the 81kg category, Samir achieved a combined lift of 268kg, with impressive lifts of 151kg in the clean and jerk and 117kg in the snatch, defeating Ecuador’s contestant for the silver medal.
This silver medal adds to her Olympic resume, following her bronze medal at the Rio 2016 Games.
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the 33rd edition of the world’s most prestigious sporting event, began on July 26th and will run until August 11th.
