Egyptian Tennis Champion Mayar Sherif to Play Against World’s No.4 Elena Rybakina in Madrid Open 3rd Round

Egypt’s tennis star Mayar Sherif progressed to Round 32 of the Madrid Tennis Open on Friday. She defeated No. 72 seed Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk 2-0 to reach the third Round.

In her next match today, Sherif will face a tough opponent in the No. 4 seed Kazakhstani Elena Rybakina. Rybakina has won seven career singles titles and finished runner-up in eleven more finals.

Her most significant achievement came in the 2022 Wimbledon Championships, where she became the first Kazakhstani player to win a Grand Slam tournament in the women’s singles category.
