Egyptian Fencer Nada Hafez Emerges Triumphant Against US Rival, Qualifies for Last 16 at Paris 2024 Olympics

World No. 26 Egyptian fencer Nada Hafez has advanced to the last 16 of the Sabre Individual Women’s event at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Hafez achieved this by defeating Elizabeth Tartakovsky of the USA, who is ranked No. 7 in the world, in the Round of 32 with a score of 15-13.

Next up, the 26-year-old athlete will face off against Korea’s Hayoung Jeon in the last 16, scheduled for early Monday. This match will be crucial in determining Nada Hafez’s fate in the competition and will surely excite her fans.

This year’s participation is Hafez’s third Olympic appearance. She previously participated in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, where she was eliminated in the rounds of 64 and 32, respectively.

In addition to her success as a fencer, Dr. Nada is also a doctor at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Kasr Al-Aini.
