The Australian city of Melbourne, Victoria, hosted the world premiere of the restored version of the classic Egyptian film “Watch Out for ZouZou” (1972).

Egyptian businesswoman Nevin al-Rifai organized the show with the Arab Radio and Television Network (ART).

The film stars Soad Hosni, Hussein Fahmy, and Tahia Karioka, directed by Hussein al-Imam.

A large portion of the Egyptian and Arab community and several Australians attended the show, held inside one of the largest theaters in the city, according to the “Egypt Independent” website.

The entire proceeds from the show were allocated to the “Ahl Masr” Hospital for free burn treatment. They were delivered by Engineer Ahmed Mostafa on behalf of the community to the hospital administration immediately after the show’s end.

“Watch Out for ZouZou” is one of the most important classics of Egyptian cinema. Its copy was restored last year as part of the Red Sea Film Festival project.

The festival hosted the movie’s first Arab screening after restoration in the presence of its star, Hussein Fahmy, and several Egyptian and Arab cinema stars.
