As an expansion pf textile export footprint in Eastern Europe, Egypt’s Ready-Made Garments Export Council, in coordination with the Egyptian Commercial Office in Warsaw, launched a trade mission to Poland from October 13–14, 2025. The initiative, held under the patronage of Egypt’s Ambassador to Poland, Ahmed El-Ansary, brought together 12 leading Egyptian apparel manufacturers with over 40 of Poland’s top clothing importers and retail chains.
Strong Diplomatic and Commercial Support
Kicking off the event in Warsaw, Ambassador El-Ansary reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to fostering deeper economic ties with Poland: “The Egyptian embassy and commercial office stand firmly behind our national exporters. Poland is not just a growing market — it’s a key logistical gateway to Central and Eastern Europe.”
The B2B meetings, held over two days at one of Warsaw’s premier hotels, aimed to foster long-term trade partnerships, tap into new market segments, and promote “Made in Egypt” garments across the Polish retail ecosystem.
Strategic Promotion and High-Level Engagement
Dr. Amr El-Kilany, Egypt’s Commercial Counselor in Poland, led the mission’s coordination efforts. His office conducted extensive outreach to Polish chambers of commerce, wholesale importers, and fashion retailers, ensuring high-caliber Polish participation and meaningful engagement with Egyptian producers.
The meetings focused on showcasing Egypt’s strengths in textile manufacturing, including competitive pricing, high-quality production, and quick delivery times — all key elements valued by European buyers facing ongoing supply chain volatility.
Poland: A Gateway to Central and Eastern Europe
Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sherif, First Undersecretary and Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service, noted a substantial 60% increase in Egyptian apparel exports to Poland in 2024, reaching $95 million, up from $60 million in 2023. Leading export items included men’s suits, shirts, and T-shirts, with Polish demand for Egyptian cotton and finished garments on the rise.
“Poland is not only one of the EU’s largest importers of ready-made garments, with total imports reaching $16 billion in 2024, but also a key regional hub for distributing goods to surrounding European markets,” El-Sherif emphasized.
Destination Africa: Polish Importers Set to Visit Cairo
Building on this momentum, the Polish delegation is expected to reciprocate with a visit to Cairo next month for the “Destination Africa” expo, organized by the Ready-Made Garments Export Council. The event will provide further opportunities for Polish buyers to explore Egypt’s garment sector firsthand, visit factories, and negotiate long-term sourcing agreements.
Outlook: A Win-Win for Both Markets
As Egypt continues to position itself as a reliable sourcing destination amid global shifts in textile supply chains, this mission signals a proactive move to diversify export markets, capitalize on free trade agreements, and strengthen Egypt’s industrial diplomacy in Europe.
With sustained support from the Ministry of Trade and the Egyptian Commercial Service, the garments sector — a major non-oil export contributor — is set to play a pivotal role in the country’s broader export growth strategy.
