In a significant move to support war-torn Sudan, Egypt presented a comprehensive plan of humanitarian aid during the Paris Conference. This initiative aims to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people impacted by the ongoing conflict.

The Egyptian proposals focus on establishing critical relief warehouses near the Sudanese border, providing immediate crisis intervention, and deploying medical teams. This includes dedicated personnel for Sudanese hospitals, along with vital medical supplies and the establishment of mobile medical units throughout the country.

Amb. Hamdi Loza, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs, led the Egyptian delegation at the two-day conference. The Foreign Ministry highlighted Egypt’s commitment to resolving the crisis through coordinated mediation efforts, working towards a lasting ceasefire.

The Egyptian plan prioritizes safeguarding Sudan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the vital role of legitimate state institutions. Furthermore, it seeks to create a platform for Sudanese civil forces to develop a unified vision and initiate a comprehensive political process.

This initiative also underscores the importance of donor countries fulfilling their pledges made at the 2023 Geneva Humanitarian Relief Conference. Additionally, Egypt calls for joint action to halt all military support to the warring factions in Sudan.

On the conference sidelines, Ambassador Loza engaged with representatives from participating nations and international organizations. These discussions focused on aligning perspectives and finding a sustainable solution to the current crisis in Sudan.
