The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities marked its presence at the International Tourism Exhibition, Travel and Vacation Show-Canada, held in Ottawa on April 6th and 7th. This participation reflects Egypt’s commitment to attracting tourists from the key Canadian market.
The Egyptian pavilion, inaugurated by Ambassador Ahmed Hafez and Mr. Wael Mansour, aimed to showcase the country’s diverse tourism offerings to tour operators and travel companies. Mr. Amr El-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, emphasized the importance of the exhibition in fostering collaboration and promoting Egypt’s unique attractions.
Throughout the event, Egyptian representatives held productive meetings with Canadian tourism stakeholders. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation to increase tourist arrivals to Egypt. The meetings highlighted recent developments in the Egyptian tourism sector, along with the country’s archaeological treasures and the variety of experiences available to visitors.
The International Tourism Exhibition attracted a significant audience, with over 150 exhibitors from 50 countries participating. The event garnered media attention and welcomed more than 35,000 visitors, creating a valuable platform for Egypt to connect with the Canadian travel industry.
