Under the warm Red Sea sun in Safaga, a new chapter in Egypt’s luxury marine tourism quietly began to unfold. A sleek, 37-meter Sport Fisherman yacht—crafted with precision, power, and pride—slid into the water, carrying more than just its elegant frame. It carried a vision: a future where “Made in Egypt” stands proudly alongside the world’s most renowned yacht-making nations.
The launch, attended by Admiral Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, and Mostafa El-Degishy, CEO of the Suez Canal Boats Company (SCBC), marked the debut of the company’s first fully Egyptian-built tourist yacht. It’s a striking fusion of global design and local craftsmanship, symbolizing Egypt’s growing confidence in the world of high-end marine innovation.
A Yacht with an Egyptian Soul and Global Design
The new vessel doesn’t just look the part—it redefines it. With its Sport Fisherman design, 37-meter length, and MTU 2600-horsepower engines, the yacht was built for both leisure and adventure. Its graceful silhouette conceals advanced hydraulics—front and rear systems that control a multi-purpose winch and a swim platform—proving that functionality and beauty can coexist seamlessly.
Inside, the mood is unmistakably cosmopolitan. Designed by Georges Vafiadis, one of Europe’s most celebrated yacht interior architects, the cabin spaces combine understated elegance with practicality: a master suite, four guest rooms, and private crew quarters, all arranged with intuitive flow and luxury detailing. The exterior design, by Fryco Yachts (USA), balances sportiness with sophistication—an ideal fit for Egypt’s new era of upscale sea travel.
And behind the craftsmanship stands quality assurance from the Italian classification authority RINA, whose supervision ensures the yacht meets world-class maritime standards.
Crafting a “Made in Egypt” Legacy
“This yacht reflects Egypt’s ability to compete globally with products of international quality,” Rabie said. “It’s more than a boat—it’s a statement that Egyptian craftsmanship can meet the highest standards of design and innovation.”
The project fulfills part of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s vision to localize Egypt’s maritime industry, transforming the Red Sea’s industrial coast into a hub for yacht building, export, and marine tourism.
Beyond Luxury: Sustainability and Economic Vision
At the company’s new facilities in Safaga, work is underway on fiberglass factories designed to make yacht construction both efficient and sustainable. These factories will soon produce smaller boats, Nile taxis, and eco-friendly vessels intended to support tourism while protecting Egypt’s marine environment.
“We’re not just building yachts—we’re building an industry,” said CEO Mostafa El-Degishy. “Our mission is to create accessible, locally produced vessels that serve tourism, trade, and leisure alike.”
Among the upcoming projects: an 18-meter yacht, two passenger launches for the Suez Canal Authority, and a 25-passenger Nile Taxi, which promises to bring the concept of water-based tourism back to the heart of Cairo.
