Egypt pursues revolutionizing its education system with introducing of artificial intelligence (AI) and programming as core subjects for first-year secondary school students starting next year. The Egyptian Ministry of Education is undertaking a comprehensive overhaul of its secondary education system to align with international standards and better prepare students for the demands of the modern job market.
Addressing Challenges and Investing in the Future
The ministry is also addressing significant challenges such as classroom overcrowding and teacher shortages. To alleviate classroom overcrowding, the government plans to build 10,000 to 15,000 new classrooms annually and implement innovative solutions like mobile classrooms and a two-shift system. Additionally, the government intends to recruit 30,000 new teachers annually and contract 50,000 part-time teachers to address the teacher shortage.
