The Egypt International Exhibition and Conference Center in New Cairo will host the 55th CIBF on January 25. The fair will kick off with an exclusive event for invitees, subscribers, publishers, and industry professionals.
The Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF) is the Middle East and North Africa region’s oldest and largest book fair. It will take place between January 25 and February 6, 2024. Tharwat Okasha, the then-Minister of Culture, organized the first fair in 1969.
The event will be open to the public from ten a.m. to eight p.m., with extended hours on Thursdays and Fridays until nine p.m.
The fair’s section on children’s literature will feature renowned writer Yaqoub Al-Sharouni, who has contributed many works that express originality and Egyptian identity.
Dr. Selim Hassan, a well-known archaeologist, has been chosen as the book fair’s second honorary character.
The annual fair draws approximately 2 million visitors and lasts about 12 days. It includes cultural seminars, film screenings, theater performances, art exhibitions, and music shows, as well as publishers from all over the Arab world and beyond.
